The
Filmbüro Augsburg e.V.
will hold three internationally renowned festivals this
November in Augsburg.
The big festival starts off with the 22nd Children's
Film Festival on 24th of November.
As usual a children's jury will select the two best films
from those put forward in the competition. As was the
case in the previous years, ten newly released international
films will be shown along with a special feature dedicated
to Gunter Friedrich, as well as a variety of animations
and a selection of short films.
On the 24th of November 16th
Festival of independent Films "Days of Independent
Film", kicks off. This festival is renowned for
its impressive selection of independent documentary
and feature films. This year the focus is on new developments
in film technology. In addition various films will be
presented portraying the life in America in a way seldom
seen in mainstream media. One of the highlights of this
year is a special feature concerning the controversial
work of Michael Moore, the winner of the Cannes film
Festival for "Roger and Me."
The 12th
C.o.I.F.S. also starts on 24th and goes on till
30th of November. This conference is the only event
of its kind in Europe. The presentations, discussions
and workshops comprise of topics ranging from technical
questions and practical film studies to film history.
The problematic of film ethics is also going to be probed.
All the participants will be given the opportunity to
present their work to the audience.
From the 28th November
to the 1st of December the 11th
Short Film Weekend
promises an enormous international selection of Shorts
from all genres. In this case there is no jury and it
is up to the audience to nominate the winner.
