Die Kuratorin

Irit Neidhardt ist Gründerin und Inhaberin von mec film (middle eastern cinemas). mec film verlieht, vertreibt und ko-produziert exklusiv Filme aus dem Nahen Osten. Nach dem Studium der Islamwissenschaft (Arabisch), Ethnologie und Politikwissenschaft in Münster war sie Mitbegründerin und von 1995 bis 1999 Programmleiterin der Israelischen und Palästinensischen Filmtage Münster.

Sie arbeitet seit vielen Jahren als Kursleiterin und Referentin und war Ende der 90er Jahre Leiterin eines Erwachsenenbildungswerkes in Münster. 1999/2000 lebte sie in London, wo sie u.a. einen Lehrauftrag an der School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) hatte. Irit Neidhardt kuratiert Filmprogramme für Kinos, Festivals und freie Träger, bietet Vorträge, Seminare und Workshops zum Themengebiet Nahost an und veröffentlicht Artikel zum Thema. www.mecfilm.de

Irit Neidhardt is founder and COE of mec film (middle eastern cinemas), a distribution and co-production company exclusively for films from the Middle East. She holds an MA in Islamic Science (Arabic), Anthropology and Political Science. After graduation she was program manager of the Israeli and Palestinian Film Days Muenster (1995-1999). She lectures and teaches since 1994 and was managing director of an adult education centre in Muenster/Germany at the end of the 1990s. From 1999/2000 she lived in London where she taught amongst others at SOAS (School for Oriental and African Studies). She is curating programmes with films from the Middle East for various institutions and projects in the field of cinema and education, and teaches and publishes an the subject. www.mecfilm.de
