We never heard anyone saying: life goes on! People adapt, they find their way instinctively. That is what the film is looking for in a trip across Iraq. It is a personal trip of four friends, going all the way down from the north towards Baghdad and to the south reaching the Arab gulf sands. Bassem Fayad

Bassem Fayad was born in Beirut in 1975. He graduated in Audiovisual and Cinematographic studies from the “Saint Joseph University” in Beirut. He was Director of Photography for various Lebanese short films and TV series, from 2003 to 2007 he was working at Dubai-based O3 production company. His short film Soha (1997-8) was awarded best student short film at Beirut Film Festival in 1998, his first documentary Beirut-Baghdad received special mention at Mediterranean Film Festival Montpellier. Road beyond Sunset is his second documentary.
